書籍設計師/書籍藝術家
1984年出生於香港。2006年畢業於香港理工大學視覺傳達設計系,獲一級榮譽學士學位。同年,獲YIC青年設計才俊大獎及獎學金。2008年獲倫敦藝術大學坎伯韋藝術學院書籍藝術一等碩士學位。在就讀倫敦藝術大學期間,擔任其學生會雜誌《Less Common More Sense》設計總監, 該雜誌於2008年末獲Guardian Student Media Awards – Student Publication Design of the Year大獎。2009年初,在擁有近二百年歷史、著重設計品位的英國《衛報》(The Guardian)實習工作,體驗創意報刊設計之道。2009年中,他成為「第二屆年輕作家創作比賽」的得獎作家,《英倫書藝之旅》一書亦於同年夏天發表。其他文章散見於香港日本潮流文化雜誌《J-POINT》(全日點)、中國時尚文藝雜誌《周末畫報》等。

愛書,愛體驗書的好質感,更愛寫字造書的過程。愛,可以有千萬理由,更可能是說不出的感覺。而能夠專心一意,做自己愛的事,是一種奢侈的幸福。

Hei Shing
Book Designer/ Book Artist

Born 1984 in Hong Kong. In 2006, he graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a first honours Bachelor Degree in Visual Communication Design. In the same year, he won the YIC Young Design Talent Award and got a scholarship for studying abroad. He furthered his studies in London and graduated from MA Book Arts at Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London, with Distinction in 2008. He worked as the chief designer of the UAL Student Union Magazine Less Common More Sense, it was glad that the magazine won the Guardian Student Media Awards – Student Publication Design of the Year in winter 2008. Being part of the prize, he experienced working in the Design Department at the Guardian (a UK creative newspaper) in January 2009. In mid 2009, his talent was once again being proved and he became one of the winners in the “Second Young Writers’ Debut Competition”. His first book, POP-UP LONDON: exploring the secret of Book Arts, was widely published in Hong Kong during summer.

Hei Shing is currently based in London. His art and design works always focus on a kind of multi-cultural diversity with a contemporary artistic sense.

書就是… A Book is…


一片紙不但表現時間,也表現空間。而一片片的紙張組合起來的書就是一個高深的容器,盛滿文字,既能從中不斷汲取智慧,又能裝入無限的智慧。

A piece of paper reflects not only time but also space. Books are formed by binding papers together to become containers of words that serve as a reservoir as well as a spring of wisdom.
